Teaching Home Exchange
What's the difference between a teaching exchange and a teachers home exchange? A Teaching Exchange is where teachers exchange trade teaching jobs for a specified time between 3 months and two years. Most teacher exchanges take place between teachers from different countries, Australia and Canada or the UK and the USA are examples. We exchanged our Canadian teaching position with an Australian teacher. We both taught grade 6 (6th grade) and exchanged teaching jobs, homes, cars, friends and bills for a year. All teacher exchanges need to go through approval by school principals and school districts before travel can take place. Both our Western Australia teacher exchange partners and ourselves went through government sponsored agencies in our home state and province. By going through an agency, one does not get a choice of the teaching location, but visa approval as well as administrative approval was fast. An alternative is to advertise on a teacher exchange site. Here you may receive contacts from potential teacher exchange partners. However, as independent exchangers you will need to go through a great deal of red tape before your teacher exchange can be approved. If you are a US teacher, you will also need to provide an organization that will sponsor your exchange partner, or they will not be able to get the required teacher exchange visas to work in the US. As experienced exchange teachers we would recommend teachers register with a teacher exchange organization within their own country. Teachers Home Exchange Arranging a teacher home swap is quite simple compared to arranging a teaching exchange. Teachers typically arrange a home exchange during vacations and holidays. A Home exchange can range from a short weekend exchanges, a few weeks house swap vacation or a longer term summer vacation home exchange. Exchanging homes for teacher vacations and family holidays is attractive and affordable. You may exchange homes with another teacher or with someone from a totally different vocation. Through a home swap travelers can enjoy an entire home to stay in free rather than paying for an expensive hotel room. We warmly invite you to explore the possibilities of a home exchange for your next teacher vacation.
