Upgrades to our websites We have been very busy making appearance and feature upgrades to our website hub at Global and to both our database websites at Global Pacific Vacation Homes and 4homex. Many of these upgrades will be gradually introduced over the next few months. All member listings are accessible during our improvements. We apologize for any inconvenience while we are upgrading and moving all our member listings to our databases.
Why we insist on photos In October 2007 we started insisting on photos for all new member listings. When it comes to planning a vacation, most people need visual stimulation. Reading about a white-sand beach, gourmet kitchen, and infinity pool doesn't always cut it. It's the alluring picture of a relaxed couple sipping piņa coladas as the sun sets that will motivate potential exchange partners to make an inquiry. You don't need a sunset or luxury home to entice possible exchangers to answer your listing, but photos go a long way towards attracting a steady stream of inquiries. Over the next few months, we will be working towards having all Global member listings displaying photos. Please be patient.
10 years old in 2008 Global started with teacher exchanges in 2003 and expanded to offering home exchanges 5 years later. In August 2008 we will be celebrating our 10th year offering home exchange information and listings on the internet. We will be offering a terrific membership incentive during the last week of December and first two weeks of January. Please look for details in our join Global area. In late June I'll be celebrating my 60th birthday. As a new years resolution I have set a goal to lose 60 pounds in the next 6 months. Lose 60 by 60 is my motto. I've made a commitment, let the world know and now need to follow through. If you are also interested in shedding some pounds, please feel free to join me. You can let me know how you are doing through our contact Global form. Any budding entrepreneurs? We have a 10 year old son who is high functioning Autistic. As he is approaching his teens, I would personally like to spend more quality time with him. After 15 years serving in the vacation and teacher exchange accommodation industry and with turning 60 in the next half year its time to start thinking about possible retirement. Vacation Rentals Vacation rentals offer a home away from home for those who don't wish to participate in a house swap. In fact, throughout many areas of the world vacation rental homes occupancy rates have risen beyond those of hotels. Why? Vacation home rentals offer more space, kitchen facilities, multi rooms, fireplaces, private hot tubs, pools, free parking and often a yard. Free from the environment that comes with noisy hotels, privacy is one of the biggest benefits of any vacation rental home.
