  • Seniors special

While on a home exchange two seniors  went to breakfast at a restaurant where the "seniors' special" was two eggs, bacon, hash browns & toast for $1.99.

"Sounds good," the wife said to the server "But I don't want the eggs."

"Then, I'll have to charge you two dollars & forty-nine cents because you're ordering a la carte," the server warned her.

"You mean I'd have to pay for not taking the eggs?" the wife asked incredulously.

"Yes!!" stated the server.

"I'll take the special then." the wife said.

"How do you want your eggs?" the server asked.

"Raw and in the shell," the  wife replied.

She took the two eggs home.

Even more choice for Global Home Exchange members!

This is a limited time offer: We have teamed up with Home Base Holidays (www.homebase-hols.com), a long established home exchange service based in London England, to offer Global members the chance to also join this second independent agency at only £1 for one year. ( £1 is approximately one dollar fifty cents) Like Global, Home Base Holidays is a private, paid membership agency that provides an excellent service. If you are a current Global member, and would like information on listing your home on Home Base Holidays, please contact us and we will send you details, with no obligation to continue Home Base Holidays membership at the end of the year. If you aren't a current Global member, join or renew and then let us know if you would like to take up the £1 membership offer from Home Base Holidays.

Note: this member benefit is also being promoted to Home Base Holidays members and we look forward to welcoming many current HBH members to Global Home Exchange. The partnership with Home Base Holidays increases the choice of exchange offers for all our members at very little cost.

Replying to other members contacts:

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO WHEN SOMEONE SENDS YOU A HOME EXCHANGE INQUIRY?

As a courtesy, we ask all members to try to respond to every inquiry, even if to tell other members that you will not accept the exchange offer.

Global offers you two choices to reply to other members inquiries

1. You may reply to any contact by clicking on reply in your email program and sending a return message.  To help others know which listing is yours, please be sure to include your location and listing ID number in your reply.

2. As an alternative, you may also choose to reply to a contact by logging in to your members area and replying directly to the members listing. (listing number and location is automatically  included in the contact they sent).  By using the contact form, the system automatically records your location, listing ID and a link to your listing plus leaves you with a record of your reply that is stored in your members area sent folder.

Pausing or canceling a home exchange listing.

If you wish to have your home exchange listing paused or  removed, please notify us by email.   We will pause or remove your listing  and send you a confirmation.

We DO NOT automatically bill your credit card when your listing expires.  We give  members a choice, to continue their listing  or ask to have it removed at any time.  No notice is needed.

Sometimes Emergencies happen.

This summer we enjoyed a terrific one week exchange to Dana Point California.

We usually give ourselves some extra time when leaving to catch a flight, almost always resulting in us waiting longer at the boarding gate.  This time was different.

While driving our rental car back to the airport the rear tire blew.  It wasn't just a flat, the entire sidewall came apart.  Fortunately emergency call boxes are generously distributed along the side of southern California freeways.

Ten minutes after we called the emergency help line, an Orange County Highway tow truck driver arrived, He quickly changed our tire, put the damaged one in the trunk and didn't charge us a penny.

We were on our way to the airport arriving just in time.  I am not sure if such service is normal, but it certainly was appreciated

New Home Exchange website

In 2012 Global will have a newly designed and upgraded home exchange site.  We will keep you informed of the progress.

Currently, 4homex.com, the site you are currently on offers information and links.  All Global Home Exchange listings and search functions are on our Global Pacific Vacation Homes site. Both sites are well linked to each other.  This two URL structure will change when our new site is added to 4homex.com.

Future Thoughts

When our new website is in place and running smoothly, we will be considering the following possible programs.  Right now they are at the thought stage and we would appreciate your prospective as feedback

Non Profit Groups

Global Members Perks

Entrepreneurial Programs

For the past 10 years Global has generously supported non profit groups in our community.

We have often thought about reaching out to other worldwide community service clubs or  non profit groups.  One thought was to allow service clubs and non profit groups anywhere in the world to offer  Global memberships in their own community.  The organization would keep 100% of all money they receive through donations or sales of Global memberships.  People who donated funds  or purchased a  membership through the service club or non profit organization would receive a coupon for 1 year listing on Global.

Some clubs already offer incentives for members to for want of a better word "recruit" new members.  Often these incentives can include extending listing time or providing a large renewal discount to rewarding members who bring in new home exchange listings with a small percentage of the signup fee.

As a thought, each Global member would be provided with 10 one year membership coupons.  The member can choose to just ignore the coupon and do nothing, give them away to family/friends/colleagues or have others share in the cost, each person pays our member $5 for the coupon.  Upon sharing the cost of 10 coupons our member has $50, covering the cost of their own membership or the member can choose to sell each coupon at face value, getting paid directly, they keep100% of all money they generate.

To expand our home exchange marketing we may provide a program for those wanting to start there own home exchange sites in there country but don't want to go through the challenges of building up a membership base.  Use Global as their listing database.  Visitors  would come to their web page.  Those visitors choosing to join, pay the affiliate directly, then they are taken o Global to list their exchange.  The affiliate gets 100% of anything paid to them minus any expenses they have.

Wishing all good health, prosperity and a happy 2012
