How do we swap house keys?

From our own home exchange experiences and the experiences that others
have shared with us regarding exchanging of house keys:
Ideas:
If the exchange is completed early enough, maker a copy of your key and
mail it to your exchange partner.
Some leave keys with their neighbour. This has some positives as well in
that your exchange partners get to meet the neighbours, learn about the
neighbour hood and your community. This is a great way to make new
friends as well.
Some members leave their keys at designated drop off or message center
areas in the airport. This is great if your partners are arriving on the
same day you leave.
We have had exchange partners leave their keys hidden for us around the
home.
Have we ever heard of anyone forgetting to give their exchange partner a
house key? Not yet! However we have forgotten to leave one of our
exchange partners the remote that opens our garage door. The remote went
with us in the car, leaving our partners having to open the garage door
with the keypad outside the house.
